Thanks for checkin back!

Pictures from the New Year's Eve Party at the Mineola Portuguese Club are now up!

This was our second year performing at the Mineola Club for New Year's and just like last year, it was a great time. The food was amazing, and we had everyone on the dance floor having a good time! We even had couples still on the dance floor past 3:00am!!

We'd like to thank the committee again for having us, and hope everyone had as much of a good time with us, as we did with them!

We would also like to take this time to thank everyone, from the committees who have hired us, to the fans who have watched us this past year. 2011 was a transitional year for the band, which saw a few weddings, a birth, and an engagement.

However, we also lost a member of the band, who was with us for many years. We wish nothing but the best for our former female vocalist Christina, and hope all her dreams come true as she embarks on the next journey in her life.

2011 also saw us take a step forward with our new female vocalist Sonia Bettencourt! She has been a great addition to the band, and took on a huge load in learning all of our material in a short amount of time, but at the same time she has challenged us to improve, learning new material that has made us a better band as well.

We close 2011 on a new path for Band Faith, and hope 2012 continues in being the best year yet for the band. We know we have been talking about it, playing songs from it, and announced it many times, but we hope 2012 will also finally bring Band Faith's first CD of all original music!!

Thanks for following Band Faith in 2011, and we hope to see everyone in 2012!!

Thanks for checkin back!

Pictures from the Cotali Mar Dinner we performed at are now up!

Cotali Mar is a relatively new restaurant that has recently opened up on Acushnet Avenue, in our hometown of New Bedford. The food is excellent and the decor is second to none.

To close the restaurant's outdoor patio for the year, Cotali Mar decided to go out in style, and we were more than happy to oblige. We began the night playing softer, more intimate music, as the patrons enjoyed their meals and drinks. Surprisingly, it wasn't until we began playing more of our modern American tunes, that the crowd began dancing the night away in the cool fall breeze.

Thanks for checkin back!

Pictures from the Cotali Mar Dinner we performed at are now up!

Thanks for checkin back!

Pictures from the Our Lady of Angels Feast in our neighbor town of Fairhaven are now up!!

We have been playing this feast on an almost yearly basis for almost 15 years! Some of our members have been playing at this feast since they were 13 & 14 years old!!

This feast is always a good time for us because it's close to home, and we always see plenty of familiar faces, but also a plethora of new ones as well. It's also sad as well, because it marks the unofficial end of "festa season".

Thanks for checkin back!

Pictures from the Senhor De Pedra Feast in our hometown of New Bedford are now up!! It's always a blast playing for our local fans, including family and friends. Band Faith would like to announce that we have found the next female vocalist for the band!!

After a process that allowed us the pleasure of hearing many wonderful voices from the local portuguese community, we have chosen Sonia Bettencourt from Hudson, MA. to help lead the band in it's new and exciting future. Sonia has only been in the country for a few months, but her excitement and attitude about music, and beautiful voice only reinforced the fact that she would be the perfect fit for the band.

Come check us out at one of our remaining gigs for the year and help us introduce Sonia to the rest of our great Portuguese community!!

We would also like to personally thank all the wonderful vocalists that took time out of their schedule to try out. We hope that they all keep their passion for music and don't let this deter them in their pursuits!

Thanks for checkin back!

Pictures from the St. Anthony's Feast at St. Fatima's Church in Hartford, CT (Day 1 with Jose Malhoa), (Day 2), and from the St. John's Feast at the St. John's Filarmonica in Stoughton, MA are now posted.

As Always the Connecticut crowd came out in force, and on Saturday we had them dancing until Jose Malhoa came on stage and drove them into a frenzy with his 25 year+ career of hit after hit.

On Sunday, we had the stage all to ourselves, and the crowd winded down their weekend dancing and singing along with us long into the night. We even had the pleasure of a performance by the kitchen crew and feast committee as we packed away our equipment.

This past weekend we had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Mia Silva for the St. John's Feast in Stoughton, and although the weather wasn't cooperating, the crowd still had a good time, and we even had some fans dancing in the rain!!

Also, it is with a heavy heart that we announce our female singer Christina Vieira will be leaving the band to start a family. We've had many fun years playing with Christina, and wish her nothing but the best on this next journey in life!

This is a sad time for us to see a member leave, but also exciting, as we are holding an open call to any female vocalists interested in trying out to be a part of our band. Please feel free to contact us to set up an audition, and join Band Faith on the next step of our journey!!

Pictures from the New Year's Eve Party at the Mineola Portuguese Center in Mineola, NY are now posted. This had to be one of the best New Year's Eve Parties we've every played. The party didn't end until 4:15 in the morning. The food and service was unbelievable. Thank you to everyone at the Mineola Portuguese Center for making this such a great event. Check out the pics and you'll see how much fun everyone had.

We also want to give a special thanks to Mia for helping us out. Christina was not able to attend due to prior engagements. Mia was able to learn a majority of Christina's repertoire in a short period of time and did an superb job! We also enjoyed performing some of Mia's original songs as well. Thank you Mia for an incredible job and stunning performance! It was a lot of fun! We hope we can work together again in the near future.

Pictures from the Wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, Ct are now posted. As usual, everyone had a blast. No one let the storm with tornado warnings end the fun. The concrete dance floor was wet but everyone still danced. You'll have to check out the pics to see what I mean if you weren't there. Also, there was another "Paradise" reunion and everyone enjoyed hearing them play.

We had a very special occasion this last weekend and we've decided to post pictures because we had the opportunity play together as band. It was Danny (bass player) & Tania's wedding. The wedding was held at the Fall River Cultural Center in Fall River, MA. Luis Neves with Centerfold was the wedding band and they did an awesome job. Pictures from the Wedding at the Gremio Lusitano Club in Ludlow, Ma are now posted. This was an all day wedding and was full of surprises. During the bride and groom's first dance, the romantic song abruptly stopped and went through a medley of songs from their early childhood to an array of today's music. They really put a new spin on their first dance. Later in the night, three men took out their harmonica's while we were on intermission and played a few tunes for the family. And of course, the dance floor was pretty packed through out the night. This was definitely the wedding to be at. Check out the pics yourself.

Pictures from the Tony Lafuente for Alderman at Large Campaign Dinner at the Hellenic Association in Somerville, MA are now posted. Tony Lafuente is the first Portuguese candidate to run for public office in Somerville, MA. He plans to respresent the Portuguese community in Somerville and will make every effort so that Portuguese community is recognized in the city. The event was a joyful event with plenty of food to eat and of course music to dance to all night by us. Once again, everyone had a great time and there was never a dull moment on the dance floor. Pictures from the Wedding at the Senhor da Pedra Club in New Bedford, MA are now posted. Although the dance floor was kind of small, that did stop anyone here at this wedding from having a good time. People danced all night long!!! The hall was extremely well decorated and there was so much food available that they even decided to setup a buffet table later on in the evening. This was definitely not planned. To top it all off, it was a close to home gig with lots of familiar faces, friends, and family of a couple members of the band. Check out the pictures yourself. Pictures from the Madeira Feast at the Madeira Club in Central Falls, Ri and from the Senhora da Pedra Feast at the Madeira Field in New Bedford, MA are posted. At the Madeira Feast, I think everyone would agree that it was much more fun when all the lights went out and the only light was from the stage lighting on the band. Everyone just flocked to dance floor and had a great time. At the Senhora da Pedra feast, the event began with a concert by the Senhora da Pedra band, continued with music played by us, and at the end we had the president of the feast (Mario who plays drums for the Capitalistas) join us for a couple of tunes. Pictures from the Santo Cristo Feast at St. Anthony's Church in Cambridge, MA, from the Day of Potugual Feast at the Portuguese Club of Hartford in Newington, CT, and from the Azorean Holy Ghosy Feat at the Azorean Holy Ghost Hall in East Falmouth, MA are now up. The crowds at all the events were awesome and really enjoyed dancing to music we played. We had everyone singing Laurindinha at the Santo Cristo Feast, we had little kids join us on stage supplementing the percussion parts on the Conga song at the Day of Portugal feast, and we had people playing a blow up guitar at the Holy Ghost Feast. We just let loose and had a great time!

First and foremost,

Welcome back Christina!

By popular demand, Christina is back in the band and did an awesome job this weekend. With only two rehearsals before this show, she managed to start back where she left off. The band is very exited because this opens up opportunities to perform music that was a little weird to do with just guys. lol (Though, we did try and had a fun time doing it. lol).
Once again, welcome back Christina!

Pictures from the Azorean Brotherhood of the Divine Holy Ghost Anniversary Show are now up. We played one continous two hour set of a variety of music that the crowd enjoyed. The dance floor was jammed all night with people dancing and having a ball. You could see it in everyone's eyes that they were enjoying thenselves and they didn't want the night to end.

Thanks for checkin back!

Pictures are up from the last two weekends and ready for your viewing pleasure. As usual at the Wedding at the Gremio Lusitana Club in Ludlow, MA, people danced all night. We played everything from portuguese marchas and bailinhos, to our spur of the moment - jazz/fusion improvisation instrumental during the Grand March, to even the Electric Slide and YMCA. These people knew how to party.

The following day, we played at the Holy Ghost Feast at the Holy Ghost Society of East Taunton. The weather was awesome for an outdoor feast, unlike the previous year when we got rained out and damaged equipment. We enjoyed the presence of our "Older Couple" dancing machines who always come to see us when we play in the Taunton area.

The following weekend we played a Wedding at the Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle, NY. This was event filled evening with a Folkloric Dance Group, guest singers and musicians and, obviously party music all night with Band Faith. We really enjoyed playing this wedding for the simple fact that whatever type of music we played, people were always dancing. Even though this was Portuguese/German wedding, everyone enjoyed the music equally as much.

Once again, we have a lot catch up on.

Unfortunately, the Mt Carmel Bizarre at Mt. Carmel Church in New Bedford, MA on June 3, 2006 was rained out. We did start to setup and try to get ready to perform, but the stage was in bad shape and in no condition to play during the rain.

The following weekend on June 11, 2006 we played at the Holy Ghost Feast at the Espirito Santo Clube in Taunton, MA. This was a diverse crowd of young people and an older crowd. That didn't make a difference though. Everyone enjoyed our variety of music and had a great time.

The following weekend we had two gigs. On June 17, 2006, we played a Wedding at Jimmy's Allenhurst of Danvers, MA. Once we started playing, there was never a dull minute. There were people on the dance floor at all times, including during our breaks when we played various cd's. On June 18, 2006, we played the Saint Anthony's Church Festival at Saint Anthony's Church Grounds in West Warick, RI. Finally an outdoor gig where the weather was actually nice! The night began with a marching band procession, an outdoor Mass, and then music all night. Again, people enjoyed our music and danced all night.

Pictures from the Queen Pagent Show at the Azorean Brotherhood of the Divine Holy Ghost in Peabody, MA are now up. The night began with the models walking in, followed by the crowning of the new Queen Model of 2006 with us playing our rendition of the "Hino do Espirito Santo." A delicious dinner was served followed by music all night long. There was never a dull moment on this dance floor. People just danced all night. Check out the pics!

You may have noticed that Cliff and Jesse were not present at this last gig. Cliff has decided to take some time away from the band for now. Jesse was sick with strep throat and was unable to make it as well.

First and foremost,

Welcome back JESSIKA!

We missed you!

Jessika is back and rehearsing with us and we're getting ready to start the new year with a bang! We are learning new music and tightening up the old. Also starting the new year, we will be officially welcoming Jesse Demelo, our new trumpet player, into the band. He has been rehearsing with us and joining us at our performances. He has shown us dedication, the desire to succeed, and the willingness to go the extra mile, which are important attributes to have as a band member. We are working on his bio section now so that you can get to know him a little better.

Pictures from November 26th & December 3rd are now up. The Night in Portugal Scholarship Show at the Gremio Lusitana Club in Ludlow, MA began with a delicious Portuguese Dinner and then an award ceremony. After that, everyone was dancing to the variety of music we play and having fun. At the Wedding at the Gremio Lusitana Club in Ludlow, MA, the party lasted all day and night long. People didn't stop dancing even when the second dinner buffet was served. Check out the pics!

We apologize for not having posted any pictures from the Noite dos Imigrantes Party at the Hartford Portuguese Club. Unfortunately, our camera is missing along with the memory card that contained the pictures from that night. If anyone has seen the camera or has any pictures from that night please e-mail us at RMJRaposo@hotmail.com so we can post whatever we get.

Our Photos section is back up. In the process of upgrading our managemnet software, the photo albums folder disappeared. Luckily we had everything backed up previously and everything is back to normal.

Pictures from August 5th & 6th are now up. At the Feast of the blessed Sacrament in New Bedford, MA we were lucky that the weather held up for the rest of the night. Though we got drenched while we were unloading the truck, we gave it our all to make sure everyone was having a good time with our variety of music. At the Wedding at the Vasco da Gama Club in Bridgeport, CT, though the A/C wasn't working for most of the night, these people didn't care and just wanted to party!. Check out the pics

It was tough crowd, but we managed to get people dancing later on during the evening. Welcome everyone to the newly redesigned BandFaith website for 2005! We hope you enjoy the new site and like the design. A lot of thought has been put in this years release to make your visit more enjoyable.

With the new year, new changes have occured with the band. Christina, due to unforseen health conditions, can no longer be a member of "Faith." Christina will always be a true friend and will be missed, not only by the member's of "Faith", but by her fans too. We wish her luck in life's endeavors and we hope that she recovers quickly.

On the other hand, we would like to welcome the newest member of the band: Jessika. Jessika with a “K” has a beautiful powerful voice that can lead or compliment any genre of music. She was previously a singer for the band "Impulse" which unfortunately no longer exists. Having this experience has made it an easy transition for both sides. She is extremly excited to join the band as are we to have her. Welcome Jessika!!!!!
