Faith was founded in 1990, by Richard and Danny Raposo. It was funded by their father, Mario Raposo who graciously promoted the band with the hope of giving his children a future in music. At first, the band was know as "F8TH", consisting of three band members. Over the years the Portuguese community had much difficulty pronouncing the name, so in 1996, the name of the band was changed to what it is called today: "FAITH". FAITH, during its many years, has shared the stage with many well-known artists, such as: Iran Costa, Agata, Edy Lemos, Lucas E Mateus, Luis Neves, Graciano Saga, Arlindo Andrade, Nelia, Alcides Machado, Chico Avila, Patricia Estacio, Evy, Michelle, Nuno Bettencourt, Mourico Morais, and Jorge Silva. As time went on, musicians came and went, making it difficult to progress and succeed, now the band now consists of seven very talented musicians. Sonia Bettencourt takes center stage singing her heart out everytime as lead female vocalist. Richard Raposo the male lead vocalist and keyboardist goes digital when playing that powerful brass or the ever-so-beautiful grand piano. The rhythm section consists of Derrick Pinhancos, drummer/b-up vocals, as he keeps the beat at a steady tempo while Danny Raposo compliments his rhythmic pulse on the bass guitar. Jonathan Vieira, guitar/b-up vocals, plays rhythm when he's not soloing or making his guitar scream. Tiago Goulart gives the extra kick, or smooth romance on the percussion. Chris Teixeira lights up the stage as the light tech and also takes pictures of all the fun we have for our website.Through close collaboration, they have become more than just band members, they have become very good friends. They spent much time together in the studio, cheering on other bands, and just hanging out and having a good time. The band has ambitions of creating an album in the near future and to perform all over New England and beyond. |
